HydroStar. The pool you build, with a river running through it.
HydroStar is the built-in version of BINDER's patented counter-current turbine. Eight models, from a 1.35 kW single-turbine BGA 160 to the 6.8 kW twin-turbine BGA 1200 PRO. All of them sit hidden behind the pool wall in a shallow stainless-steel shaft, so the pool looks like a pool — until you start swimming and don't stop.

Why HydroStar.
A river, not a jet.
The patented turbine creates a broad, even current across both the surface and the undercurrent — around your whole body, not against a single point. No splash, no turbulence, no fighting the water.
Hidden behind the wall.
The installation shaft is at most 515 mm deep and sits behind the pool wall. No inspection manhole, no terrace footprint, no dry room required — the pool looks clean from every angle.
Runs on household power.
Every model runs on 230 V / 50 Hz with standard 6–32 A service. No high-voltage connection, no special infrastructure. The control cabinet mounts up to 10 m from the pool in any dry, ventilated room.
Maintenance-free by design.
Brushless DC motors with maintenance-free sliding bearings. All components in V4A / 316Ti / 316L stainless steel or high-grade plastic. Winterproof, frost-resistant, no seasonal removal. 3-year guarantee.
Eight models. One decision: how much water do you want to move?
The S, M and L series cover virtually every residential and light-commercial pool. The PRO series — BGA 600 and BGA 1200 — is for larger private pools, fitness facilities, rehabilitation centres and commercial lazy-river installations.

What your pool and plant room need to handle.
Pool
- Minimum length: 4.5 m
- Minimum width: 2.5 m
- Turbine centre: 0.3–0.5 m below waterline (recommended)
- Swimming distance from outlet: 1.5–2 m
Electrical & plant room
- 230 V / 50 Hz supply
- 16 A inert fuse
- RCD ≤ 30 mA residual current
- Control cabinet max 10 m from pool, in area 2 per DIN VDE 0100-702
- Dry, ventilated room
- Professional installation required by a qualified technician
Installation process
HydroStar installs into a shallow stainless-steel shaft integrated into the pool wall — 515 mm deep at most, with cable routing and circulation already in place. A typical installation takes a day for one or two certified technicians. No inspection manhole, no terrace-side footprint, no separate dry room.
- Works in swimming ponds and natural pools
- No large terrace-side footprint
- No separate drying room needed
- Compatible with all pool construction types

German engineering, German warranty.
3-year standard guarantee. Extendable to 7 years (warranty extension not currently available in Cyprus; 3-year warranty applies there). Serviced by BINDER with original parts only. All components 316Ti / 316L stainless steel or high-grade plastic. Designed, engineered and manufactured in Germany.
The questions we get asked most.
Can I retrofit HydroStar to an existing pool?+
Yes, if there's space for the installation shaft behind the pool wall. If there isn't, the retrofit you're looking for is EasyStar — it hooks to the pool edge without construction.
How loud is it?+
Designed for low noise and low vibration — the brushless DC motor runs in water, which is most of the acoustic treatment you need. We don't publish a dB number because the figure at the swimmer depends on your pool geometry. If that number matters for your project (hotel, rehab centre) we can source it from BINDER engineering.
Can I use it with saltwater?+
Up to 0.4% (4,000 ppm) salt content, yes. Salt must be fully dissolved before addition and added at a minimum distance of 2 m from the turbine, and the system should run at low level for at least 60 minutes after dosing. Above 0.4% you need the brine-water-resistant version — ask us.
What happens in winter?+
Nothing. The system is winterproof and frost-resistant. No removal, no draining, no seasonal service.
Can I add it to a natural / biological pool?+
Yes. HydroStar works in swimming ponds and natural pools — the installation shaft integrates into the wall the same way.
