BINDER Model Comparison

HydroStar, EasyStar, or LittleStarlet — which BINDER counter-current system fits your pool?

The short answer: choose HydroStar if you are building or refurbishing a pool and want the strongest, smoothest current for serious lap swimming. Choose EasyStar if you already own a pool and do not want to rebuild the wall. Choose LittleStarlet if your pool is compact, wellness-focused, or you want the simplest plug-and-play option. The longer answer is below.

At a glance

Every BINDER system uses the same turbine principle, but each model is engineered for a different kind of project. Here is how the three lines compare across the factors that usually decide the purchase.

Three systems, three design briefs

Reon Living sells all three BINDER lines in Cyprus. Here is where each one earns its place.

HydroStar — the reference for new builds

HydroStar is a built-in system: the turbine housing sits behind the pool wall and only a flush outlet is visible inside the pool. It delivers the widest flow range BINDER makes, from 50 up to 1,200 m3/h across eight models, so it can be specified for anything from a villa lap pool to a serious training basin.

  • Best when the pool is being built or fully refurbished
  • Best when the owner wants a clean, architectural finish inside the pool
  • Best when the intended use is real lap swimming and long training sessions

EasyStar — retrofit without rebuilding

EasyStar is a bracket unit that hooks over the pool edge, so it fits pools that are already built and in use. It covers flows from 50 to 550 m3/h across six models, which is enough for almost every residential villa pool in Cyprus.

  • Best when the pool already exists and civil works are off the table
  • Best when the owner wants a strong current but can accept a visible edge unit
  • Best for villa owners upgrading an existing pool for fitness

LittleStarlet — compact, plug-and-play

LittleStarlet is a single continuously adjustable unit delivering up to 180 m3/h, designed for compact pools and wellness installations. It is a plug-and-play product, so installation is simple and disruption is minimal.

  • Best when the pool is small, a plunge pool, or a wellness spa
  • Best when the project needs a self-contained, no-civil-works solution
  • Best when the user wants gentle-to-firm resistance rather than competition-grade flow

Which should you choose?

Most buyers fit one of three clear scenarios. Read the one that matches your project and follow the link to the right product page — or talk to us directly if your situation is a blend.

Building a new pool and want to swim laps

If construction is live or the pool is being refurbished from the shell out, HydroStar is the right answer. The turbine sits behind the wall, so nothing protrudes into the pool, and the eight-model range means the flow rate can be matched precisely to pool size and intended use. A minimum length of 4.5 m is enough for most villa lap pools.

See HydroStar

Existing villa pool, no construction

If the pool is already tiled, filled, and in daily use, EasyStar avoids a demolition job. It hooks over the pool edge and delivers flows up to 550 m3/h across six models, so a villa owner in Paphos or Limassol can upgrade to real fitness swimming without rebuilding anything. The minimum pool length is 5.0 m.

See EasyStar

Small plunge pool or wellness installation

If the pool is a compact plunge, a spa, or a wellness feature in a villa or small hotel, LittleStarlet is the right fit. A single continuously adjustable unit delivers up to 180 m3/h and runs from a standard 230 V, 8 A supply, so installation is plug-and-play.

Frequently asked questions

The questions we hear most often from villa owners, builders, and architects choosing between the three BINDER lines.

Can I install HydroStar in an existing pool?+

Technically yes, but only if the project includes structural work on the pool wall, because HydroStar is a built-in system. In practice, if your pool is already finished and you do not want to rebuild, EasyStar is the sensible choice.

Is EasyStar strong enough for serious lap swimming?+

Yes. EasyStar covers flows from 50 to 550 m3/h across six models, which is sufficient for fitness and lap swimming in typical residential villa pools. If you need more flow than that, or you want the turbine hidden behind the wall, HydroStar is the next step up.

What is the minimum pool size for each system?+

HydroStar needs a minimum pool length of 4.5 m. EasyStar needs 5.0 m. LittleStarlet does not have a minimum length specified by the manufacturer, which is one reason it suits compact and plunge pools. Width and depth requirements depend on the specific model and should be confirmed with us before you commit.

Do all three models run on standard single-phase power?+

Yes. All three lines operate on 230 V single-phase supply. LittleStarlet draws 8 A, EasyStar draws 6 to 16 A depending on model, and HydroStar draws 6 to 32 A depending on model. Your electrician should plan the circuit to match the exact model you choose.

Which warranty applies to each system?+

HydroStar carries a 3-year warranty (extension to 7 years not available in Cyprus). EasyStar carries a 3-year warranty. LittleStarlet warranty terms are published on its product page. All warranties are fulfilled by Reon Living as the authorized Cyprus distributor.
